Erasmus+ KA210-ADU project
We are pleased to unveil the fifth instructional video in the Erasmus+ project Keep It Short and Simple: Introduction to Assistive Technology for Visually Impaired Persons (KISS: Intro 2 AT 4 VIPs). This initiative is brought to you by the Split County Association of Blind People (Croatia), in cooperation with La Brújula Formación Inclusiva S.L. (Spain) and the Intermunicipal Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted Kranj (Slovenia).
This lesson highlights screen magnifiers — essential visual accessibility tools designed to support persons with low vision. A screen magnifier enlarges digital content on computers, tablets, and other smart devices, making it easier for users to read text, view images, and interact with digital interfaces. These tools often allow users to adjust magnification levels, enhance contrast, customize color schemes, and even track cursor movement with precision.
For those with residual vision, screen magnifiers offer a transformative way to independently access education, employment resources, online communication, and more. By adapting the visual environment to individual needs, these tools promote digital inclusivity and uphold the principles of universal design — turning barriers into bridges for participation.
This tutorial presents a hands-on introduction to screen magnification settings and techniques. It is intended to support educators, accessibility trainers, advocates, and users themselves in understanding how visual assistive technology can enrich digital interaction and expand opportunities.
