We are proud to share the third instructional video lesson in the Erasmus+ project Keep It Short and Simple: Introduction to Assistive Technology for Visually Impaired Persons (KISS: Intro 2 AT 4 VIPs) — an initiative led by the Split County Association of Blind People (Croatia), in partnership with La Brújula Formación Inclusiva S.L. (Spain) and the Intermunicipal Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted Kranj (Slovenia).
This lesson introduces viewers to the Braille Notetaker, a versatile device that transforms the way blind users access information, take notes, communicate, and manage tasks. Combining the tactile benefits of Braille with digital functionality, notetakers enable independent learning, efficient communication, and professional engagement.
From drafting emails and browsing the internet, to editing documents and organizing schedules, Braille Notetakers are an essential part of modern assistive technology. Their portability and compatibility with mainstream software make them a vital tool for students, employees, and anyone navigating both personal and workplace responsibilities with limited or no vision.
Above all, this lesson highlights the enduring importance of Braille — not only as a literacy system, but as a foundation of equal access, independence, and cultural identity for blind communities around the world.
In this tutorial, users are introduced to key device features and practical applications, with clear demonstrations tailored to visually impaired persons, educators, vocational specialists, and inclusive technology advocates.
